Privacy Policy
CleanCut ("we", "the app") is built to keep your audio on your device. This policy describes what data the app does and does not handle.
Data we collect
None. CleanCut does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, audio data, transcripts, usage analytics, device identifiers, or location information. The app contains no third-party analytics SDK and no third-party tracker.
Data the app processes locally
To do its job, the app reads and writes the following on your device only:
- Audio files you import or record (stored in the app's private container; never uploaded).
- Transcripts produced by Apple's on-device Speech framework (also stored locally; never uploaded).
- Subscription entitlement state, theme preference, and daily-usage counters (stored in
UserDefaults; never uploaded).
You can delete all of this data at any time by uninstalling CleanCut.
Apple-handled data
If you purchase a CleanCut Pro subscription or lifetime upgrade, Apple's In-App Purchase system processes your payment. CleanCut never sees your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Permissions
CleanCut requests two iOS permissions:
- Speech Recognition — used by Smart Cut to detect filler words on your device. You can revoke this in Settings → CleanCut.
- Microphone — used only if you record audio inside the app. You can revoke this in Settings → CleanCut.
Children
CleanCut is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Substantive changes that affect what data the app handles will also be surfaced inside the app.
