Please include your iOS version, Aurora version, and the URL of any site you're having trouble with — see the bug report template below.

Safari extension setup

If Aurora isn't working in Safari yet, you need to enable the extension in iOS Settings:

  1. Open Settings → Safari → Extensions.
  2. Find Aurora in the list and toggle it on.
  3. Tap Aurora → All Websites → Allow.
  4. Return to Safari and refresh any open tab. Dark mode should now apply.

Alternatively, from inside Safari: tap the aA button in the URL bar → Manage Extensions → enable Aurora.

Common questions

Does Aurora collect any data?

No. All settings are stored locally on your device. No analytics, no tracking, no server. See the full Privacy Policy for details.

How is Aurora different from Noir or Dark Reader?

Aurora is the only Safari dark mode built specifically for iOS — with Focus Filter, Control Center widget, Live Activity, Auto Schedule, and Siri/Shortcuts integration that no other dark mode app has. Tested and stable on iOS 18+.

Will it slow down Safari?

No. Aurora injects CSS at document_start for instant theming — no white flash before darkening. Site-specific optimizations for popular sites including YouTube, Google, Reddit, Amazon, Wikipedia, Twitter, and more.

Does it work with other extensions like Grammarly or 1Password?

Yes. Aurora is designed to coexist with other Safari extensions. If you notice a conflict with a specific extension, please email me with details.

A site looks broken with Aurora on. What can I do?

Try these in order:

1. Open Aurora app → Rules → add the site to the Blacklist. Aurora will skip that site.

2. Email me the site URL — I add site-specific optimizations in updates regularly.

3. Try a different theme — some themes apply darker filters and may interact differently with the site's CSS.

How do I add Aurora to Control Center?

(Requires iOS 18 or later.) Settings → Control Center → scroll to "More Controls" → tap the green + next to Aurora. Then open Control Center and tap to toggle dark mode from anywhere.

How do I set up Focus Filter?

Settings → Focus → pick a Focus mode (e.g. Sleep) → Focus Filters → Add Filter → Aurora → set to ON. Aurora will automatically toggle when you enter that Focus mode.

What's the refund policy?

Standard Apple App Store refund policy. Request via your Apple ID purchase history. The 3-day free trial requires no payment info, so you can try before you buy.

Is there a Mac version?

Currently iOS and iPadOS only. Mac support is being evaluated.
